Nurturing Relationships

JEWISH WISDOM ON HOW TO SEE OTHERS, TREAT OTHERS, AND BUILD BETTER RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships may be the one subject everyone feels like an expert on. There's a podcast, a bestselling book, and a YouTube therapist for every problem, and we all know the classic advice: listen more, communicate better, let go of grudges, etc etc.

What does the Torah say?

Nearly a third of the Torah's commandments are about how we treat other people. That's a lot of Torah wisdom on how to relate to the people around us – and it goes deeper than behavior: it changes how we see the people we live with, work with, and run into every day.

Nurturing Relationships draws on that wisdom, from the sages of the Talmud to the revolutionary ideas of the Hasidic masters, and it often turns the familiar advice on its head. Change your perspective, and every interaction changes with it.

Six weeks, covering six skills: empathy, listening, disagreeing, seeing the good in people, giving criticism, and forgiving.
